Deep-Profile Cellular Confinement

SlopeGrid 6" is the deep-profile geocell that confines more fill for erosion control on demanding slopes.

The taller 6" cell wall grips roughly half again as much soil, stone, or concrete as the 4", giving added holding power on aggressive grades, in deeper channels, and under heavier aggregate loads. It anchors to the hillside and locks its fill in place to shut down erosion, soil migration, and washout.

Choose the 6" profile for slopes steeper than 1:2 (about 22.5°) or wherever a thicker layer of vegetated topsoil or hard armor needs to stay put — a permanent, low-maintenance solution built from virgin HDPE.

Cell Depth: 6"

Why Choose SlopeGrid?

5 reasons SlopeGrid outperforms other erosion control methods on steep slopes

Permanent Protection — Not Temporary

Made from virgin HDPE with a decades-long service life. Unlike biodegradable blankets that fail within months, SlopeGrid keeps working long after vegetation is established.

Works on Slopes Too Steep for Blankets

Effective on grades steeper than 1:2 where erosion control blankets simply wash away. The 3D cell structure physically locks soil and aggregate against hydraulic forces.

Earth-Anchoring System Prevents Downslope Sliding

SlopeGrid's anchoring system mechanically attaches to the hillside — preventing the entire mat from sliding downhill. Flat 2D blankets have no equivalent protection.

Flexible Fill — Vegetated or Hard Armor

Fill with topsoil and seed for a natural vegetated slope, or gravel for hard-armor channel protection. One product handles applications that would otherwise need separate solutions.

Far Cheaper Than a Retaining Wall

For slopes too steep for blankets but not needing full concrete retention, SlopeGrid is a fraction of the cost of masonry or concrete walls — with free shipping and simple installation.

About SlopeGrid

Why the deep-profile 6" grid holds more fill on demanding slopes.

The 6" SlopeGrid is the deep-profile member of the cellular confinement family — a three-dimensional honeycomb of connected cells that anchors to a slope and locks its fill in place. Where wind, rain, and runoff would normally carry soil downhill, the confined cells hold the ground together and shut down erosion, soil migration, and washout before they start.

What sets the 6" apart is cell depth. The taller wall confines roughly half again as much fill as the 4", so it grips more soil, stone, or concrete per square foot. That extra holding power matters most on aggressive grades, in deeper drainage channels, under heavier aggregate loads, and anywhere a thicker layer of vegetated topsoil needs to stay put. On slopes steeper than 1:2 (about 22.5°), it's the profile to reach for.

Fill options stay flexible: seed it with topsoil for a living, vegetated face whose root network knits into the soil over time, or pack it with stone for hard-armor protection in channels and along shorelines. Either way you get one system doing the work of several. Built from virgin HDPE and paired with an earth-anchoring system that fixes the whole mat to the hillside, it's a permanent, low-maintenance fix that keeps performing for decades. A shallower 4" profile is available when the job calls for lighter duty.

Slopes over 45°? These panels are rated for grades under 45°. For steeper slopes, call for a custom quote: (800) 748-5647.

Measure the actual slope face (the sloped surface), not the flat footprint, for the most accurate count.
Panels are sold whole, so counts are rounded up. J-hook count follows the recommended 24-per-panel placement pattern.
