The Mirafi FW-series is a woven monofilament geotextile designed for high-flow filtration and drainage.
Woven from monofilament yarns, these fabrics keep large open pathways for water while filtering soil, giving them excellent flow and clog resistance in wet, fine-grained conditions. They are specified for subsurface drainage, riprap bedding, and permanent erosion control.
Where standard wovens would blind or clog, the FW-series maintains permeability over the long term, making it the choice for drainage-critical and high-sediment environments.
The Mirafi FW series is a class 3 geotextile fabric for surface drainage applications. This woven fabric is designed to allow for both water flow and dimensional stability. The fabric is inert to biological degradation and resists naturally encountered chemicals, alkalis and acids.
The definition of a “class 3 geotextile” can vary slightly depending on the municipality, DOT or project engineer. Be sure to refer to the specification sheet below to ensure that this fabric meets the specific definition of a class 3 geotextile for your project.
