How to Apply Gravel-Lok Rock Binder

Always follow the instructions on the product label for exact ratios and details. Here's the process in brief:

  1. Prepare and compact your base. A stable, level sub-base is essential for any traffic-bearing surface. Gravel-Lok is not suitable for sloped surfaces.
  2. Dry your aggregate completely. Stone must be thoroughly dry before application — any moisture will prevent proper curing.
  3. Apply using the mix method (recommended). Combine your clean, dry aggregate with Gravel-Lok liquid in a 5-gallon bucket and trowel the mixture into place. Follow the product label for the correct mix ratio — do not exceed 20–24 oz of liquid per 5-gallon bucket of stone, as too much liquid causes foaming. Alternatively, the pour method can be used — sprinkle Gravel-Lok lightly over laid dry stones with a watering can with small holes or a gravity wand, keeping the applicator moving to avoid pooling.
  4. Allow to cure fully. Minimum 24 hours before use. Follow the product label for full cure guidance.
